Robert Hale dominated the tournament fishing scene on Toledo Bend in the late “70’s and the “80’ and was the designer of the Original Hale’s Craw Worm, the first successful plastic crawfish lure. He has now redefined the meaning of the term “lure control,” with the amazing SIDE TRAC series. The SIDE TRAC series is the first plastic lure that you can actually control the direction that the lure will TRAC, depending on the hook placement. Incorporated into its design is a unique appendage that is called the “ACTION MAKER,” this appendage accounts for the lures unique tracing action. If the “ ACTION MAKER,” is to the left of the shank of the hook, the lure will TRAC to the right, if the “ ACTION MAKER,” is to the right of the shank of the hook, the lure will TRAC to the left(use the bottom view to determine if the “ ACTON MAKER,” is to the right or left of the shank of the hook. This TRACING action, enables the lure to TRAC underneath docks and under over hanging limbs and other such obstructions, and will virtually fish around stumps and trees. The SIDE TRAC series is not a cast and retrieve lure, it should be fished with a gentle twitch and pause, twitch and pause retrieve to achieve the desired TRAC. We also recommend that the rod tip be held to the left to TRAC to the right and held to the right to TRAC to the left. We recommend a hook with a pin type keeper, such as Mustad’s 91768KH in1/0, 2/0 or 3/0 for best results. We do not recommend screw lock type hooks, but wide gap worm hooks will also work.
